KLPD x CelcomDigi – Generasi 5G Flash Mob at Bukit Bintang
On 21st June 2025, Kuala Lumpur Pipes & Drums had the incredible honor of performing and managing one of the most exciting events we’ve ever been part of — the launch of CelcomDigi’s Generasi 5G campaign at Bukit Bintang.
This wasn’t just a performance — it was a massive gathering of musicians, dancers, and creative energy that turned the heart of Kuala Lumpur into a live stage.
The Event Vision
When CelcomDigi’s organizers contacted us, their goal was ambitious — 100 musicians and 20 dancers coming together for a one-of-a-kind flash mob performance. Not only were we tasked to perform, but also to coordinate and gather the musicians for this large-scale production.
The final line-up featured a powerhouse collaboration:
- Kuala Lumpur Pipes & Drums
- HyperBrass
- Batteryheadz
- St John’s Alumni Pipe Band Malaysia
- Talented brass players from UPSI, UiTM, UM, ASWARA
- A few outstanding freelance musicians
- Dancers from the amazing EMAS Cheerleading Team
Training & Preparation
To pull this off, we arranged few night training sessions leading up to the event. The rehearsals focused on both the music and movement — essential for creating the impact of a synchronized flash mob.
The Flash Mob Execution
On the day of the event, all 100 musicians were split into four mini-groups stationed at different points within Bukit Bintang. At the signal, each group marched towards the central performance area in front of Bangunan Yayasan Selangor.
As the groups converged, the crowd’s excitement built up — and that’s when the music truly began.

The Grand Finale
After the last note faded, we joined the crowd in counting down to 8:00 PM. As the clock struck, the massive screen near McDonald’s lit up with CelcomDigi’s Generasi 5G launch commercial — a spectacular moment that capped off an unforgettable evening.
